Is This You?

Who Is This For?

Who This Is For:

  • You're a physician or dentist earning $400K or more a year in taxable income.
  • You own a practice or earn 1099 income on top of your paycheck: locum shifts, a partner share, a clinic or side work.
  • Your preparer files a return each spring and tells you what you owe, and nobody plans anything while the year is still open.
  • You've heard tax ideas before, but nobody had the time to form the entity, set up payroll or keep the records behind it.
  • You'd rather hand the setup, the books and the returns to one team than juggle several people.
  • You've been pitched products by salespeople and want a tax firm that sells nothing and takes no commissions.

This Is Not For:

  • W-2 earners with no practice or 1099 business of their own.
  • Anyone earning under $400K a year in taxable income.
  • Anyone who only wants a return filed, or only wants a written plan with no help putting it in place.
  • Anyone who wants aggressive moves they couldn't defend if the IRS asked.

What We've Delivered

Three medical professionals with three different setups, each one carried out by our team.

Locum Physician

CaliforniaW-2 to 1099

Jeff moved from W-2 work to his own 1099 business. We created his professional corporation, set a reasonable salary with a cash balance and 401(k) plan, and put his wife Trisha on the payroll. That's a 604.95% return on what they paid us.

WashingtonAbout $1,000,000 gross income

The owner came to us paying more than he expected. A cash balance plan, an equipment leaseback, his son on the payroll and business costs he'd been missing were the main pieces.

Internal Medicine

Nashville$40,000 side business

David has a hospital job and a side business that earns only about $40,000. We set it up as a professional corporation taxed as an S corporation, with a defined benefit plan that lets him put away $95,000 a year.

100% Done-For-You

Here's Everything We Do For You

Here's how Alexis and her team take you from your first numbers to a filed return.

We Dig Into Your Numbers

In a 90-minute deep dive we go through your W-2, your practice or 1099 income and your spouse's income, and we review your last 3 returns for anything missed.

You Pick The Strategies

We walk you through each strategy, what it saves and its pros and cons. You decide which ones fit, and we take it from there.

We Form Your Entity

We form the entity, file the elections and manage the registrations, so the business side of your income is set up the way your strategies need it.

We Set Up Payroll And Salary

We set up payroll through Gusto and write a reasonable compensation report that backs up your salary in front of the IRS and sizes your retirement savings.

We Keep Your Books Audit-Ready

We set up QuickBooks Online, clean up your entity's books and review them every quarter, so every deduction has the records behind it.

We File, Monitor And Protect

We prepare your personal and business returns, update your strategies when your pay or the rules change, monitor your IRS account and cover you with audit protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I pay more than I pay my preparer now?+
Your preparer reports a year that's already over. You pay us to set up the entity, payroll, books and retirement plan that lower the number, and to check it's reported correctly on your return. It's a flat fee, so a quick question or a phone call never turns into a surprise bill, and we take no commissions on anything we recommend.
What does it cost?+
Your tax plan is a one-time fee quoted on the call, and most land between $10,000 and $30,000. After that, business owners move onto a monthly package that starts at $999 and covers your personal and business returns, ongoing planning and the follow-through.
Is any of this going to get me in trouble with the IRS?+
Every strategy we use is written into the tax code, and we don't put anything on a return we wouldn't be comfortable defending in an audit. We call it Audit-Ready by Design: standardized books, a written report behind your salary and audit protection in every monthly package.
Most of my income is W-2. Does this apply to me?+
It does if you also own a practice or earn 1099 income, even a small amount. David, a hospital internist, earns only about $40,000 on the side, and that business now funds a defined benefit plan that puts him on track to save about $29,000 a year. If all of your income is W-2, this isn't the right fit.
Do I have to do the setup myself?+
No. We form the entity, file the elections, handle the registrations, set up payroll through Gusto and set up your books in QuickBooks Online. Some strategies, like starting a retirement plan, need an outside administrator, and your plan spells out that cost before you choose it.
Can I just buy the plan and put it in place myself?+
No. We don't take plan-only work, and every client stays on a monthly package for at least 3 months, because the savings only hold up when the strategies are set up and reported correctly. That package also covers your returns and keeps everything current as your income changes.
How long does it take, and when do I see the savings?+
On average it takes 60 days from signing to deliver your plan, and then we put the strategies you choose in place. Moves like paying yourself a salary through payroll and 401(k) contributions from that pay have to happen before December 31st, and the savings show up when your return is filed.
I'm not in Tennessee. Can you still help?+
Yes. We're based in Knoxville, but we work virtually, mostly over Zoom, with physicians and dentists all over the country.
One Last Step

Want To Know What You Could Save Before December 31st?

On the strategy call, we look at how your income splits between your paycheck and your practice or 1099 work, and where money is leaking to the IRS. You'll leave with a sense of what we can save you and a quote for the work, so bring your spouse or financial advisor if they're part of the decision.
